| Gov. Tanco is 2011 UPV Outstanding Professional |

ROXAS CITY – Capiz Governor Victor A. Tanco was chosen by the University of the Philippines Alumni Association Inc., Iloilo Chapter as these year's University of the Philippines - Visayas (UPV) Outstanding Professional for Public Service and Governance. The UPV Outstanding Professional Awards is given to any UP graduate residing and working in Western Visayas who have outstanding achievements in their chosen field. Criteria for the said recognition include the nominee's professional practice, advocacy, community service, volunteer works, leadership and membership to other organizations and awards, citations and honors received. Capiz Acting Provincial Administrator Atty. Jose O. Villanueva said that “The best practices of the province of Capiz under his administration, which was further elaborated on his 5 point development agenda, are the factor why he is chosen for the award.†"As we can recall, Gov. Tanco was also one of the 2008 UPV Presidential Centennial Awardee, which was conferred by the same association, as recognition for his exemplary service to the Capiznon," Atty. Villanueva disclosed. The awarding ceremony will be held at the UPV Auditorium, UP Visayas, Gen. Luna Street, Iloilo City this coming July 23, 2011, 6 o’clock in the evening. (cppb/Arnold Alarcon, Jr.)
